Church Relationships
Whether you’re a full-time youthworker or the volunteer who stepped forward to coordinate the ministry in your church, the relationships we share with others in the church are oftentimes a blessing and sometimes a challenge. But working with other leaders as part of the Body of Christ is part of the work of Youth & Family Ministry!
This workshop will focus on the different relationships youthworkers hold with others in the church: with young people, their families, volunteers, church leadership, and pastors. You’ll leave with a greater appreciation for the shared mission we hold and how to work towards it with the people around you.
Facilitating this workshop is Jason Reed, the Youth Ministry Specialist for the New Jersey Synod.

Technology for Ministry
Young people and families are more connected to one another and the world than ever before. Everyone seems to have an iPod, a laptop, a smartphone… what does this mean for the way ministry happens?
This workshop will focus on ways technology can be useful for ministry as well as some pitfalls to avoid. In particular, the workshop will explore how we can use online resources (including but not limited to your church's website) to communicate and strengthen community. It will also consider some possible ways of using technology within your church to enhance education and relationships.

Facilitating this workshop is Mark Vitalis Hoffman, Associate Professor of Biblical Studies at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg.
Saturday, May 1, 2010 (10:00am-12:00pm)
Zion Lutheran Church
107 W Main Street
Middletown, MD 21769

Dollars and Sense
Throughout the year, congregations engage their members in thinking about stewardship - how to use the time, talents, and treasures entrusted to us by God. But oftentimes that doesn’t connect to the youth & family ministry happening there… As leaders who handle money left and right for retreats and events, and who have fundraisers as one of your primary job responsibilities, wouldn’t it be helpful to have more expertise in this area?
This workshop will provide both an overview of current thought in stewardship, as well as opportunities to focus on practical areas of budgeting, fundraising, and doing ministry on a shoestring budget. This workshop also includes lunch in the cost!!!
Facilitating this workshop is Wolfgang Herz-Lane, an Assistant to the Bishop and the Director for Evangelical Mission for the DE-MD Synod.
